How to add a chart to your Propertybase reports A lot of times we want to add a chart to our data to really visually represent what's going on with it. So what we do is we take a report that we have already, or we build one that might be relevant. And we look through it to see what makes sense and what kind of data we're looking at. So basically we're looking here at My Contacts by Stage. So this are individuals based on the stage of sale that they might be in. So we look at what kind of report we have this. And let's see. We have a summary report. It's summarized by stage, basically. So we have Lead. We have Showing. Offer, closing, client, and archive. Those are our basic values that we want to represent. So this is our report. And the first thing we do is click on Customize. And we open up right into the Report Builder. And right in the middle of the page there you see an Add Chart button. When we click on the Add Chart button, this brings us up to the Chart Editor. I like pie charts for this kind. And basically it already has told us which kind of values might make sense on this. But we can specify if it doesn't. So we have Record Count and Stage. So we can see the values of the record count. And the wedges, which are these pieces, are our stage. Now this on the right is actually just a preview. If you have a lot of data, it may not accurately represent. But it'll give you sort of a high-level overview. Just like you see when you're building the report in the Report Builder. Click on OK. And the system generates a chart for you. So obviously this is still a preview. And to see the full details we click on Run Report. And there is this chart at the bottom. We can see it's large, medium, or small. And again, we can Save it, Export it, Print it, or do what we need to do. So that's basically how to add a chart. The best thing to do when experimenting with charts is to get inside of the Report Builder and play around and slice and dice the numbers that might help you.
